Introduction

We are excited to present the "Southern Roots: Growing University-Assisted Community School Partnerships" symposium taking place in Durham, NC on April 10th and 11th, 2025. This free, in-person event is co-sponsored by the Southeast Regional Coalition for University-Assisted Community Schools (SRCUACS), the Institute for Educational Leadership's Coalition for Community Schools, the NEA Foundation, the Netter Center for Community Partnerships, and Partners for Rural Impact. The goals are to strengthen relationships and to explore how the UACS strategy can contribute to the community schools movement. Conversations will focus on practical examples of higher education partnerships that support teaching and learning, community development, advocacy, and coalition building. Attendees include representatives from nearly 20 institutions of higher education across the US South.
