Amaya Jackson graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2022 from NCCU with a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences and Psychology. While fulfilling the requirements of the Cheatham-White Scholarship Program, she held leadership positions in Tri-Beta Biological Honors and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and was a member of the inaugural team of the Durham University-Assisted Community Schools Research Collective (DUACSRC). In 2019, a transformative study abroad experience focused on health disparities led her to pursue a Master of Public Health at UNC - Chapel Hill, concentrating in Health Equity, Social Justice, and Human Rights which she is completing as she applies to medical school. As a graduate student, she has transitioned into the role of Project Manager for the DUACSRC team. Amaya is driven by her goal to integrate her educational background, work experience, research endeavors, and community involvement to make positive equitable impacts and advance her career.
